Prudential Thailand joins hands with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

to organise 'Prudential Thailand Run for Growth' activity and donate saplings to make Bangkok a greener city

Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok participated in a 'Prudential Thailand Run for Growth', a run-walk activity organised by Prudential Thailand in collaboration with Bangkok Metro Administration (BMA) and Pathumwan District Office. Employees were invited to participate in a run-walk event for a healthier body and mind while supporting the 'Green Bangkok 2030’ initiative by donating 1,750 tree saplings and 28 bicycles in response to the week of World Environment Day.

“The BMA's goal is to increase green space by 10 square meters per person by 2030 with the cooperation of all partners under the 'Green Bangkok 2030 project. This includes public green areas where people can walk to within 400 meters and increasing urban shady areas which is the great activity of Prudential Thailand and BMA. I am delighted that Prudential Thailand is willing to be a part of helping promote and encourage a more sustainable Bangkok with more green spaces through the support of this project. I hope this will be the first step towards a sustainable future moving forward,” Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt said.

Mr. Bundit (Kenny) Jiamanukoonkit, CEO of Prudential Thailand said, “Prudential Thailand makes social responsibility one of our top business objects; therefore, our responsibility is to our customers, employees, and local communities. One of the company's key commitments towards sustainable business management (ESG) is to manage the impact of climate change. The company is aware of the impact of climate change on the planet, so we are hosting the ‘Prudential Thailand Run for Growth’ activity to encourage employees to get fit together while donating saplings and bicycles to Bangkok Metro Administration under its ‘Green Bangkok 2030’ project.

The ‘Prudential Thailand Run for Growth’ activity was organized on the 175-year anniversary of Prudential and the 28-year business anniversary of Prudential Thailand with the support of its employees, the BMA, and Pathumwan District Office. Every 60-second run-walk distance turns into 5 saplings, with a donation of 1,750 saplings, divided into 1,000 Yellow Elders, 250 Purple Bougainvillea, 200 White Bougainvillea and 300 Dendrolobium Umbellatum and plus an addition 28 bicycles to Pathumwan District staff to use in work.
