Prudential Thailand’s Support to the Local Community Remains Steadfast During the Pandemic

Prudential Thailand continues to support local communities during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as protecting the lives and livelihoods of Thai people remains the company’s top priority.

For over 26 years the company has been doing business in Thailand. We have continuously supported and developed projects to promote the long-term health, safety and financial skills for Thai people. This is aligned with our purpose to help people get the most out of life as well as our ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) guidelines, one of which is making health and financial security accessible to all.

Since the beginning of 2020, the company rolled out its COVID-19 Relief Fund where Prudential supported medical organizations and hospitals that required vital medical equipment and supplies. Prudential employees collaborated to make more than 13,500 DIY Face Shields for hospitals and communities that were in dire need at the beginning of pandemic.

Prudential Thailand has also donated 5 million Baht under its group-wide COVID-19 Relief Fund to help build Airborne Infection Isolation Rooms (AIIR) and Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) Clinics at four government hospitals; namely Golden Jubilee Medical Center, Vajira Hospital, Hatyai Hospital, and Priest Hospital. All four hospitals serve a critically growing number of patients each day, with the AIIR and ARI Clinics offering treatment and long-term relief. Prudential Thailand did this in cooperation with Eastspring Investments, a globalasset manager with Asia at its core.

In addition, the company has responded to the latest crisis by donating 8 Airvo2 Humidified High Flow Generators (two units per hospital) to large government hospitals in Bangkok and neighbouring provinces including: 1) Siriraj Hospital, Faculty of Medicine of Mahidol University in Bangkok, 2) Thammasat University Hospital in Pathumthani, 3) Samut Sakhon Hospital in Samut Sakhon,  and 4) Bang Khun Thian Geriatric Hospital in Bangkok/Samut Sakhon. Last but not least, 15 BeneFusion VP5 Ex infusion pumps were donated to Vajira Hospital to assist the medical professionals in treating COVID-19 patients.
