Volunteers from Prudential Thailand
help expand financial education to educational opportunity extension schools in Chiang Rai Province
Mr. Robin Spencer, Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Thailand, along with the senior executives, led a group of 30 volunteers from Prudential Thailand to join the Cha-Ching volunteering activities in Chiang Rai Province in the North of Thailand during November 24–25, 2022. The project, "Proud to be PRU: Do Small Things with Great Love", is aimed at kickstarting the first phase of the volunteering program among Prudential staff members to help them understand more about volunteering and community investment and raising awareness of the Cha-Ching financial literacy program in the rural parts of Thailand.
In this program, with the support and collaboration from our community investment partners, Junior Achievement (JA) Thailand and Plan International Thailand, PRU volunteers traveled to three educational opportunity extension schools in Pan District of Chiang Rai Province, namely Ban Tharn Thong Wittaya (Pa Rouek) School, Pan Pasoek Sawad School, and (3) Rong Tharn Wittaya School, and spent time with teachers teaching school children the four key money management concepts of Earn, Save, Spend, and Donate, which are core to our Prudence Foundation’s "Cha-ching" financial literacy curriculum.
This activity is a good start for more exciting programs to be launched in 2023. More volunteering and staff engagement activities are on the way. Stay tuned!
